Barbara Jane Mackey Moore, passed away Monday, January 19, 2015, at Hospice House in Cleveland, Ohio, in the arms of her husband, George H. Moore, Sr., who was at her side along with her four children and eight grandchildren. She was greeted in the arms of Jesus, her Savior.

Born May 20, 1940, in Painesville, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Vernie “Fat” and Lola Mackey.

Barb was a beautiful person and always had a smile to share. She served in her church and taught a kindergarten Sunday School class for more than 30 years.

She was overcome with Multiple Sclerosis for the past 22 years. Her husband cared for her in their home. Her favorite things were her grandchildren and the family dog, “Mack,” who were therapy to her during her illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Mackey.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George H. Moore, Sr.; children, George Moore, Jr., and wife, Cyndi, of Perry, Ohio, Kimberly Selle, and husband, Dan, of Kirtland Hills, Ohio, Mark Moore, and wife, Sarah, of Trumbull Township, Ohio, and Kenneth Moore, of Concord Township, Ohio; a brother, Vernie Mackey, and wife, Salley, of Warren, Ohio; a sister, Beth Snowden, and husband, Patrick, of Perry, Ohio; and grandchildren, Kyle Moore, Lindsey Yeagley, and husband, Scott, Garren Moore, Dana O’Keefe, and husband, Tim, Kara Selle, Joshua Selle, Jeremiah Selle and Lora Grace Selle.

A memorial service was January 23 at the Painesville Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Terry Weyman, Jr., officiating. Interment was in the Riverside
Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44111-2602.

Her husband, George, was a son of the late Ben and Beulah Moore. He was a 1954 graduate of Green Bank High School.
