April Grand Jury returns indictments

The April 2025 Grand Jury convened in the Pocahontas County Circuit Courtroom Tuesday, April 2, and returned indictments of the following individuals:

Jonathan K. Bennett, 35, of Marlinton – One count, failure to appear, a felony.

William J. Ball, 43, of Logan – One count, grand larceny, a felony; one count, burglary, a felony.

Steven H. Sharp, 42, of Marlinton – One count, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled non-narcotic substance, a felony; one count, possession with intent to deliver marijuana, a Schedule I, controlled non-narcotic substance, a felony.

Paul C. Clement, 42, of Hillsboro – One count, failure to register as a sexually violent predator or provide notice of registration chan-ges, a felony.

Michael L. Lewis, 55, of Hillsboro – One count, person prohibited from possessing a firearm, a felony.

Mulvie W. Grimes, II, 57, of Scottsdale, Arizona – One count embezzlement of fiduciary, a felony.

Jamie A. Witek, 43, of Beverly – One count, fraudulent schemes.

Jason F. Brickles, 47, of Valley Head – One count, murder in the first degree, a felony; one count, use or presentment of a firearm during commission of a felony, a felony; four counts, wanton endangerment with a firearm a felony; one count, person prohibited from possessing a firearm, a misdemeanor; two counts, destruction of property.

Cory B. Alderman, 40, of Marlinton – Two counts, domestic battery, third offense, a felony; one count, domestic assault, third offense, a felony.

Arnold B. Schoolcraft, 41, of White Sulphur Springs – One count, counterfeiting, a felony; one count, unlawful assault on law enforcement officer, a felony.

All arraignments will be held April 14 before the Honorable Judge Patrick I. Via.

An indictment is not proof of guilt. A person is considered innocent until proven otherwise by their own admission or by a jury of their peers.
