Allie Faye Swink Brockwell, age 89, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Duke Regional Hospital from complications of congestive heart failure.

Born March 14, 1928, in Cass, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Tallman Swink.

Faye was a 1946 graduate of Green Bank High School. She attended Mountain State College in Parkersburg and worked for West Virginia Tractor Company in Charleston, before joining the United States Navy. While in the Navy, she met her husband, Glenn Brockwell, whom she married April 23, 1952.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stewart Swink.

She is survived by her husband, Glenn Brockwell, of Durham, North Carolina; four daughters, Gwen Snowden and Kathy Woody, both of Durham, North Carolina, Brenda Hardt, of Sebring, Florida, and Sharon Reyes, of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a niece, Veronica Swink, of Cass; and many cousins.

Funeral service was held April 24 at Pleasant Green Methodist Church in Durham, North Carolina. Interment was in the Pleasant Green Cemetery in Durham.
