for the June First Friday event, the West Virginia Department of Environmental Project (DEP) brought the fish of Pocahontas County to eye level with its Fish of West Virginia mobile aquarium. The tank was parked at the back of Discovery Junction where the crowd could get an up-close look at several fish, including a golden trout and a large catfish that spent the evening on the bottom of the tank.
First Friday also featured a performance by Juanita Fireball and the Continental Drifters, games and crafts provided by local organizations and lots of fun on the splash pad. The Farmers Market was set up, with vendors selling fresh produce, flowers, baked goods and crafts. S. Stewart photo
