The deployment of high-speed internet to Pocahontas County has been glacially slow.
A wide variety of reasons have conspired to produce this problem. Among them appears to be Frontier who seems to have no interest in upgrading their infrastructure to fiber and appears to have been dragging their feet on pole sharing with other companies to maintain their current monopoly.
Based on an article in The Pocahontas Times by Tim Walker, it now appears that one of the current delays lies with DOH District 8.
Governor Justice, we need your help to see if this delay is warranted or a case of bureaucrats sitting on this request to justify their staff size.
If bureaucratic foot dragging is the cause, please provide them with some motivation to get off their butts and move this along expeditiously.
Maybe sending Baby Dog down to get them moving might work.
Affordable high-speed internet is vital to many residents, and we would like to see this roll out done in our lifetimes.
