Dr. N. R. Price will be 89 this Thursday, December 5.
Mr. and Mrs. Dharl Dever and children, Mary Darla and Dharl Earl, arrived from Florida with the snow last Thursday and have moved into the apartment over the Shrader Store. Earl Dever is also here with them but he and Mrs. Dever will not move here until Spring. The Devers have bought the Shrader Store and will continue the business under that name.
Miss Nancy Harper is in Chicago for the National 4-H Dress Revue.
Karen Galford was awarded an all expense paid trip to Chicago, Illinois, to attend National 4-H Club Congress by the E. I duPont de Nemours & Co.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Edgar and daughter, Marty, spent the holiday in Washington, D. C.
Deer
During the first two days, 143 deer were checked in Pocahontas. Last year’s total was 376.
Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Emmett G. Galford, of Marlinton, celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary on Tuesday, November 19.
Their home was the scene for the gala occasion where they were greeted by a host of relatives and friends. They received many lovely gifts, and cards and telephone calls.
Reunion of Class of 1933 Green Bank Hight School
Twenty-five members of the Green Bank High School class of 1933 returned to the school’s annual Homecoming on October 26 for a reunion during the 1963 Centennial observation of the State of West Virginia. Many of the classmates had not seen each other during the thirty years.
The 1933 class motto was “Out of school life, into life’s school.” Class colors were lavender and white and the class flower, lilac.

Grand Opening
Grand Opening of the new A& P Super Market, located at 912 Third Avenue, has been set for Wednesday, December 11th, it was officially announced today.
The new store multiplies in size the former A&P outlet and the new store promises convenience for motorists with its 33-car parking lot.
Robert L. Miller, Manager of the former store will head the new store. Mr. Miller is a 34 year veteran with A&P. He, his wife, Clara, and their son, Bob, reside on Smith Street in Marlinton. They also have two married daughters, Mrs. Steve Smith and Mrs. Donald Ramsey, both of Marlinton, and two granddaughters.
FOUR-H CLUB NEWS
A Memorial Service for the late president John F. Kennedy was held by the Droop Mountain 4-H Club at their regular meeting on Saturday, November 30.
Later we held our installation service for the new officers for the oncoming year.
It was decided to have our Christmas program, on Saturday night, December 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Droop Mountain school house.
The public is invited.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ray Landis, a daughter, named Rayetta Lynne.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Warren McKenney, a son, named Jerry Lee.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ramsey, a daughter, named Debra Lynn.
DEATHS
Regina Louise Lester, daughter of Calvin and Helen Madison Lester; died at home November 28. She was born October 11, 1963. Graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery.
Service was held at Smith Funeral Home for Sterl Yeager, age 83, who died in a Hyattsville, Maryland hospital.
