We have everything you need for the perfect Fourth of July celebration!
The markets are open – rain or shine – and have three great locations throughout the county. Green Bank Market, in the parking lot of Henry’s Quick Stop, Wednesdays, 3 to 6 p.m. Linwood Market, in the parking lot of the Linwood Library at base of Snowshoe Mountain, every Friday, 3:30 to 6 p.m. Marlinton Market, near the First Avenue Mini Park, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon.
Pioneer Days Saturday, July 11, the Marlinton Farmers Market will be located on Fourth Avenue behind the depot, and Erin Lore will be there doing face painting.
Looking for some exceptional produce?
This week at the market we will have a variety of squash, green bell peppers, Hungarian hot wax peppers, banana peppers, cucumbers, baby potatoes, zucchini, green onions, garlic, cilantro, basil, rosemary, sage, thyme, parsley, oregano, dill, green beans, tomatoes, rainbow chard, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, red and green romaine, peaches, black raspberries, strawberries and so much more.
The Farmer’s Market is lucky to have a wide variety of vendors. We love focusing on our produce but we have a variety of crafters at the market, as well. You can find many items proudly made in Pocahontas County – beeswax products, unique fabrics, quilts, potato bakers, sewing accessories, purses, specialty yarns, hand knitted apparel, nature paintings, colorful tie dyes, soaps, jewelry, and much more.
We also have eggs, lard, molasses, honey, vanilla extracts, maple syrup, jams, jellies, freshly ground flours, a huge variety of baked goods, artisan breads, pepperoni rolls, specialty cookies and granola.
