New Bridge
Work has started on the long-promised bridge across the Greenbrier at Seebert. Delegate Tom Edgar worked long and hard on this project. The single-lane bridge, with promise that a second lane will be added in the future if traffic warrants it, will be constructed of precast cement at the old ferry landing. It will be an above-water bridge with an estimated cost of $110,000.
Brenda Barrett and Jane Dean left Saturday for Washington, D.C., where they will be employed by the U. S. Coastal and Geodetic Survey.

LUCK
The god of luck will wind his path
Among the ones who dare to laugh
Who sing a merry roundelay
And paint the clouds that mar the day.
The god of luck will make a king
Of him, who voiceless, still must sing.
He will make young the very old,
Their blessings will be manifold.
The god of luck will wind his path
Among the ones who dare to laugh.
