Homecoming
Miss June Starks, daughter of Mrs. Neva Starks, of Droop, will reign as Homecoming Queen at the Third Annual Homecoming at Pocahontas County High School Friday, September 22, 1972. Activities will begin at 8 p.m. with the football game between the Warriors and the Cowen Bulldogs.
The Warrior band, under the direction of Charles Fauber, will present a colorful halftime show which will include the presentation of the queen’s court and the crowning of the Homecoming Queen by Fredric Smith, principal.
June’s escort will be Kenney Kellison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kellison, of Marlinton.
The Queen’s court is made up of the following:

Mrs. Libbie J. King, 87, of Marlinton; born at Mill Point, a daughter of the late Uriah and Susan Hudson Bird. Burial in Mountain View Cemetery
Clyde Neal Shrader, 75, of Huntersville, a son of the late John H. and Osa Stulting Shrader. Burial in the Mount Zion Methodist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Lena Virgie Bright, 80, of Marlinton, a daughter of the late James A. and Ellen Wilfong Sharp. Burial in the Sharp Cemetery.
Mrs. Betty Alice Mullenax Hulver, 81, of Beverly, formerly of Bartow. Born in Circleville, a daughter of the late Elijah and Elizabeth Hinkle Mullenax. Burial in the Mullenax Cemetery near Cherry Grove.
