Durbin Baseball Team – circa 1930

The Durbin Baseball Team, probably taken in the late 1920s or early 1930s, at the  baseball diamond  in east Durbin, near the leather tannery in Frank. Front row, left to right: “Doc” Widney (?), Harry “Squire” Banton, Clifford M. “Tip” Kincaid, Jake Simmons (?) and Pete Gainer. Back row, left to right: “Veech” Collins, Richard Gainer, “Doc” Collins, Claude “Dutch” Kincaid and Hunter Stretch (?). Other players included Gene Lawton, “Sap” Hull, Glen Gragg , Keith Nottingham and Jack Filuta. Please send corrections and additions to Preserving Pocahontas.
