Donna Armstrong Dombek, formerly from Elk Mountain, now lives in Ishua, New York. She is the sister of Tammy Armstrong Hively, of Green Bank, and David Armstrong, of Hillsboro.
Dombek and her husband, Andy, are coming to Pocahontas County to visit family and friends, and they are bringing their extremely talented canine with them.
Ellie’s “Aunt” Tammy and her friends in the Seneca Woodlands Wo-men’s Club asked Dombek if Ellie might be willing to perform some of her amazing “scent work” and other tricks as a fundraiser for the club.
Five year old Ellie came from humble beginnings – she was a rescue dog. She is a Beagle-mix who has been trained by Dombek.
Ellie, a certified therapy dog with International Therapy Dogs, has earned many titles in various sports such as Nose Work, Agility, Rally, Barn Hunt and her favorite, Trick Dog.
The exhibition will be at the Dunmore Community Center Thursday, July 22, at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.
The exhibition is being sponsored by the Seneca Woodlands Women’s Club as a fundraiser for the club’s scholarship program.
The event is free, but donations are always appreciated.
At the event, The Amazing Ellie will perform a special skit with Mary Sue Burns. Other audience members will have a chance to participate with Ellie as well, as she performs various tricks and shows her prowess at finding hidden scents.
It promises to be a barking good time for all.
