Dear Editor;
At the September 17, 2019 Pocahontas County Commission meeting, I beseeched the commissioners to adopt the Kanawha County 2010 Dog Ordinance.
I am pleased by the following draft talking points in accordance with an approved motion:
• To meet with the animal control officer to review the Pocahontas County Dog Ordinance
• To support the animal control officer
This and next week’s issues of The Pocahontas Times will publish the 2010 Pocahontas County Dog Ordinance.
The commissioners have the authority to craft and adopt additional section(s); my concerns are the cruelty and enforcement issues. Please take time to voice and inform the commissioners of your opinions on the matter.
Furthermore, I salute Amendment I of the constitution of the United States: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”
The Oath of Office subscribed and sworn to by the Pocahontas County Commissioners supports the U. S. and the West Virginia constitutions.
