Edward Dale Wilfong, age 70, of Dunmore, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014, at Dunmore.
Born August 21, 1944, at Boyer, he was a son of the late Hubert Benson and Rachel Elizabeth Hull Wilfong.
Ed was an Air Force Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was an automobile and jet mechanic; a member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Edward Dale Wilfong; two sisters, Mary Kay Higgins and O. Charlotte Taylor; and three brothers, Hubert “Hubie” Wilfong, Allen Wilfong and Oscar Wilfong.
He is survived by a daughter, Carol Ann Wilfong, of Norristown, Pennsylvania; a son, Brian Wilfong, and wife, Rochelle, of Middletown, Delaware; grandchildren, Anastasia Lightner, Mackenzie Wilfong and Brian T. Wilfong; step-grandchildren, Melissa Ann Desalis and Amanda Cathleen Lindsey; great-grandchildren, Colton Lightner, Caston Lightner and Michael Desalis; three sisters, Joyce Palmer, and husband, Ken, of Aurora, Colorado, Alice Kramer, of Arbovale, and Violet “Bitsie” Ryder, of Marlinton; and two brothers, David Wilfong, and wife, Donna, of Weston, and James Wilfong, of Boyer.
Funeral service was October 11 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in the Boyer Cemetery with Military Rites by the Pocahontas County Honor Guard.
