Rosetta W. Anderson, age 83, of White Sulphur Springs, passed away Thursday morning, October 2, 2014, at The Brier Nursing Facility in Ronceverte.
Born December 20, 1930, in Tucker County, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Virgie Wilfong White.
Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and Methodist Women of the Church. She was a Lay Leader for her church and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a retired teacher from Greenbrier County Schools, and was a past president of the Pearl S. Buck Society at Hillsboro.
Rose, as she was known, was president of the local AARP in Lewisburg and a member of the White Sulphur Springs Woman’s Club.
She always thought of others before herself, especially her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed White and Ron White.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Emory Anderson; four sons, Rodney Carl Anderson, Randy Dink Anderson, Walter Lake Anderson, all of White Sulphur Springs, and Brian Matthew Anderson, and wife, Lori, of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren, Jordan, Mallori, Levi and Alec Anderson, all of whom were the apple of her eye; and one sister, Betty White, of Spencer.
Funeral service was October 5 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with Rev. Joe Geiger officiating. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery.
