This is Miss Alice Waugh’s recipe that she gave to me. I made this often when we fed the Rotary, Lions or other organizations.
Pound Cake
1 pound butter or margarine
1 pound powdered sugar
6 eggs
3 ¼ cups cake flour
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. orange extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
In a mixer, cream together butter or margarine and powdered sugar.
Add 3 eggs, one at a time and beat well after each.
Add cake flour, beat well.
Add 3 more eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Add extracts.
Beat 10 to 12 minutes at medium speed.
Grease a 10-inch bundt pan and dust with flour.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
It may take a few minutes longer, depending on your oven.
Cool and remove from pan.
Sometimes I make this cake and put strawberries and whipped cream on top.
Enjoy
