Betty C. Armstrong, age 87, died Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
Born January 20, 1932, at Linwood, she was a daughter of the late George Ligon and Bessie Jackson Mace.
Betty was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and a member of the Swago United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Armstrong; daughter, Marilyn Armstrong; brothers, Luther, Julian, Clyde, George, Lewis, Dale, John and Willie Mace; and sisters, Daisy Hayslett, Annie Bowers, Evelyn Turner, Susie Wade, Goldie Armstrong and Brownie Mace.
She is survived by a daughter, Rosanna Groves, and husband, Larry; granddaughter, Laurinda Swiney, and husband, Joseph; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Michael and Joseph Swiney; and a sister, Mary Hanna.
Funeral service was held March 12 at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton with Ronald Kinzel officiating. Interment was in Armstrong Cemetery
