He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Frances Bennett; and paternal grand- father, Mike Nicely.

In addition to his parents and loving wife, he is survived by his children, Karlee Nicely, of Salisbury, Maryland, and Ryan Pierce, of Fishersville, Virginia; a sister, Amy Mercer, and husband, John, of Vienna, Virginia; a niece, Makenzie Mercer; his beloved grandmother, Dora Nicely, of Boyer; aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family of friends; and his beloved pet, Ruby.

Memorial service was held May 19 at Durbin United Methodist Church with Pastor Tim King officiating.

At Tim’s suggestion, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
