Ruby Lynn Hodges Burns, age 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
Born October 7, 1940, in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Merrill Warren and Anna LeBeatrice Sizemore Hodges.
Ruby was a member of Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro, the Red Hat Society and was a lifelong beautician.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marvel McNeill; a brother, Marion Hodges; and a sister-in-law, Pat Hodges.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William Richard “Dick” Burns; son, Ralph Warren Burns, and wife, Terrell, of Washington, D.C.; two grandchildren, Warren Maverick Burns and Madeleine Abselle Burns; a sister, Carolyn Stonfer, and husband, Ron, of Reisterstown, Maryland; brothers, Keith Hodges, of Hickory, Pennsylvania, and Glen Hodges, and wife, Sue, of Apple Creek; sister-in-law, Sharon Hodges, of Steubenville, Ohio; brother-in-law, Blix McNeill, of Buckeye; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, December 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 9, 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Andy Rice officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Bruffey Creek.
