David Wayne Cassell, II, age 29, of Dunmore, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Born November 4, 1987, in Elkins, he was a son of David Wayne and Lorie Ann Gum Cassell.
David was a United States Army Veteran, having served in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom from 2010 to 2013.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Mariah Nelson Cassell, of Dunmore; a sister, Becky Cassell, of Tallahassee, Florida; a brother, Dylan Cassell, of Waveland, Mississippi; maternal grandparents, Harry and Bonnie Gum, of Cass; maternal great-grandmother, Leabelle Gum, of Marlinton; and his trusted service dog, Aida.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 28, 4 p.m. at the shelter at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park parking lot with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
