If you have a family connection to militia members who may have served at Fort Warwick between 1774 and 1783, if you are a history buff or if you are just curious, you are invited to an open house at Fort Warwick Saturday, May 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event will include artifact displays, site tours, hands-on archaeology and historical lectures.

The Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps will raise the flag and fire a rifle salute at 11 a.m. to honor Revolutionary War veterans who are interred in Warwick Cemetery.

Archaeological digs have unearthed quite a bit of history at this site, and there is more to be discovered.

Fort Warwick is located on the Bob Sheets property just off Rt. 92 in Green Bank.
