Mrs. Seagraves was a schoolteacher who returned to her hometown of Marlinton with her family in 1949. They moved into a small log cabin near the courthouse on Tenth Avenue, which had been designed by her mother, and “Milly” started giving piano lessons. Students from all areas of Pocahontas County took lessons from Mrs. Seagraves. The log house where she lived still stands on Tenth Avenue and many of her pupils are still playing piano in the county today. Mrs. Mildred Yeager Seagraves passed away January 20, 1992.
