Kenneth Anthony Haid, Jr., of Fayetteville, transitioned out of this life Monday, January 16, 2017– just short of 59 trips around the sun – surrounded by family, friends and the sound of his granddaughter laughing.
Ken was a 1981 graduate of West Virginia University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He worked as a livestock inspector and was a long-time employee of the USDA NRCS as a Soil Conservationist. He worked in many areas around West Virginia, including Fayette, Raleigh, Wyoming, Hardy, Kanawha and Pocahontas counties.
He was an accomplished musician and had many friends throughout West Virginia whom he played music with over the years. He was an avid and skilled motorcyclist and a trained Motor Cycle Safety Instructor. He enjoyed riding twisty, back roads and finding the graveled long-way around wherever he traveled.
He is survived by his wife, Melinda Dolin Shipman Haid; two sons from his previous marriage to Sheila Goldstein Haid Wilson, Keegan, and wife, Kasie Robb Haid, of Orlando, Florida, and Tanner, and wife, Alexandra Beaulieu Haid, of Charles Town; and a granddaughter, Ariella Haid, of Charles Town.
Ken enjoyed being outdoors more than anything indoors. He would want his life to be celebrated and mourned under the sky instead of a roof. In keeping with his independent nature and the varied groups of friends throughout West Virginia and a few other states, please gather as you see fit and remember him in the way best suited to your relationship with him.
In keeping with his wishes, the body was cremated.
