Donald Price Grogg, age 82, of Arbovale, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
Born June 29, 1934, in Green Bank, he was a son of the late Forrest Ernest Grogg and Flora Mae Grogg Sheets.
Donald was a proud member of the United States Army, where he served from February 1957 to February 1959. He was also a member of the Durbin Lions Club.
Among his list of accomplishments was his occupation as a truck driver for Interstate Hardwoods, Bill Hartman and Chris Alt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Foster, Dorotha Schrader, Betty Ware and Carrie Grogg; and brothers, Forrest Grogg, Guy Grogg, Emil Grogg, Marvin Grogg, Merle Grogg, Jimmy Grogg and Charles Grogg.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Grogg, of Ronceverte; daughters, Phyllis Buel, and husband, James, of Stafford, Virginia, and Pamela VanReenen, of Asbury; sons, David Grogg, and wife, Denine, of Stafford, Virginia, and Timothy Grogg, and wife,Virginia, of Henderson, Nevada; a sister, Ruth Ann Mullenax, of Arbovale; a brother, Ray Grogg, of Arbovale; grandchildren, Cathy, Jessica, Carrie, Jimmy, Steve, Tyler, Trace, Melissa, Chris, James, Joshua, Dustin, Cody, Rachel and Joey; and great-grandchildren, Justin, Cierra, JD, Elijah, Olivia, Mikayla, Roland, Rilynn, Grayson, Chance, Sophia and Jayden.
Funeral service was September 4 at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale with Pastors Julian Rittenhouse and David Collins officiating. Interment was in the Arbovale Cemetery with Military Honors by the Pocahontas County Veterans Honor Corps.
