Wanda Eye Hedrick, age 87, of Marlinton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016, at Pocahontas Center, following an extended illness due to complications of Lewy Body Dementia.
Born January 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Iva Margaret Propst and Daniel Propst.
Wanda was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School. She was owner and operator of Eye’s Dariland in Marlinton from 1962 to 1970. She worked as a teacher’s
aide, and later retired with 27 years of service from the Pocahontas County Assessor’s Office. She was a member of Marlinton Presbyterian Church, Marlinton VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Pocahontas Promenaders Square Dance Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse S. Eye, January 4, 1977; two brothers, Elvin Propost and Hurl Propst; and two sisters, Norma Walker and Louise Vandevander.
She is survived by two daughters, Joan Frye, and husband, Mike, of Olney, Maryland; and Annette Graham, and husband, Bill, of Buckeye; a sister, Polly Thomason, and husband, Dick, of Bluffton, South Carolina; a brother, Roy Propst, of Brandywine; four grandchildren, Andrea Meadows, and husband, David, Jim Frye, and wife, Melissa, Zachary Graham, and wife, Sarah, and Tanner Graham; five great-grandchildren, Audrey Meadows, Tyler Meadows, Carson Frye, Blake Frye and Abigail Frye; and her husband, Everett L. Hedrick, of Brandywine.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 29, 1 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine with Revs. Jason Felici and Jess Felici officiating.
