Zachariah Swink with his wife, Rachel Cassell Swink. Mr. Swink was born in Rockbridge County, Virginia, November 3, 1835. His family moved to the Pocahontas area around 1850. He enlisted in the Confederate Army at Camp Allegheny March 1862. He was captured in March 1865 and sent to Camp Chase in Ohio in April 1865.
