Members of the Pocahontas County Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCCVB), Snowshoe Highlands Area Recreation Collaborative (SHARC) and Pocahontas County High School (PCHS) students and staff from Nature’s Mountain Classroom attended the inaugural West Virginia Outdoor Economy Summit held February 17–18 in Charleston.
Hosted by The Nature Conservancy and the West Virginia University Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative, the summit brought together leaders in tourism, conservation, recreation, entrepreneurship and community development from across the state. The event highlighted the continued growth and impact of West Virginia’s $2.1 billion outdoor recreation economy and celebrated the partnerships helping to strengthen it.
