Last Thursday, I was invited to Durbin to take part in a brain-storming meeting.
First, I met Nicolle Sawczyszyn at the Simply Sweet Café. Bob McCalley drove over from Petersburg to meet us there for breakfast. Unfortunately, Mayor Steve Queen was at work that day. Afterward, we met Buster Varner at the Durbin Library and continued “what-if” discussions. The meeting was somewhat of a last-minute idea, prior to the up-coming quarterly MFTP Board Meeting and 2025 MFTP Retreat, scheduled for January 15 – 16 in Elkins.
The primary purpose of the Elkins retreat is to bring MFTP stakeholders together to launch the ARC POWER project. The retreat will offer a range of workshops that will prepare each MFT representative to participate effectively and maximize the value of the POWER project for their town, while leveraging the shared expertise and resources of the Partnership to advance our mission in alignment with our seven strategic goals. Each workshop will inform MFT representatives of future POWER grant activities, provide strategies to engage community members throughout the POWER process, and offer opportunities for MFT representatives to collaborate with stakeholders from across the region.
Stay tuned, good things are happening across the region.
Rising tides lifts all ships.
