4-H Achievement Night and Officers Traning
All 4-H members, leaders and families are invited to this year’s 4-H Achievement Night and Officers Training School which will be held at Pocahontas County High School Wednesday, September 24. Pizza will be served in the PCHS cafeteria at 6 p.m., with the 4-H clubs supplying beverages and healthy snacks. Officers Training School and a Leaders Association Meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by Achievement Night. There will also be activities and classes for 4-Hers who are not officers, as well as a 4-H project book expo for parents.
Frozen Food Sale
The 4-H Fall Frozen Food Sale is now in progress. All orders are due in the Extension Office by September 23. The order form can be obtained by calling the Extension Office at 304-799-4852. The frozen food sale is being sponsored by the Pocahontas County 4-H Leaders Association.
Diabetes Cooking School Offered
Register today for this year’s “Dining with Diabetes” cooking school, which will be held in the Marlinton Presbyterian Church on Mondays, October 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and a three-month follow-up class in January. This free program is intended for people of all ages with diabetes, their family members, caretakers or anyone who cooks for a diabetic. Participants must commit to all five nights of the school. Call the Pocahontas County Extension Office at 304-799-4852 by October 1 to register. Space is limited, so call today.
Farmers Dinner Meeting Survey
If you have recently received a survey from the WVU Extension Service regarding educational dinner meetings we need your help.
The results of this survey research will allow us to demonstrate impact to show the effectiveness of these dinner meeting educational sessions. This will aid us in securing funding to ensure the continuation of this program in the future. Additionally, it will allow us to target areas that are identified as being significantly important so we can better serve our agricultural communities.
