Ward L. Jackson, of Warren, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Ohio.
Born May 10, 1935, in Marlinton, he was a son of the late Walter F. and Lula F. Smith Jackson.
During high school, Ward played football, basketball and baseball. After high school he went on to proudly serve in the United States Army. He retired after many years as a Group Leader from Grinnell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Oris Jackson, Howard Jackson, Alfred Jackson and Guy Jackson.
Ward will be sadly missed by his wife, Wilda Butler Jackson, whom he married July 2, 1960; two daughters, Tricia Jackson and Traci Painter, and husband, Doug, all of Warren, Ohio; four sons, Kenneth Jackson, and wife, Jill, of Wilmington, North Carolina, Daniel Jackson, and wife, Terri, Steven Jackson, and Walter Jackson, and wife, Wendy, all of Warren, Ohio; a brother, Elmer R. Jackson, and wife, Helen, of Elkins; three sisters, Evelyn Sparks, of Marlinton, Betty Krumpe, and husband, Chuck, of Kinsman, Ohio, and Eleanor Hamrick, and husband, Clifford, of Dailey; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held August 19 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, Ohio.
