Wanda Sue Halterman, 76, of Ronceverte, formerly of Green Bank, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington.
Born February 7, 1948, at Buckeye, she was a daughter of the late Burton Burnell Gum and Gilda Howard Browning.
Wanda was of the Presbyterian faith, a homemaker, worked as a flagger for Totten Paving, and as a salesclerk at Snowshoe. She was famous for her handmade quilts and was there to help anyone who was in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie C. Halterman; two sisters, Linda Grubb and Barbara Casteel; and a brother, Billy Howard.
Wanda is survived by two sons, Kenneth Halterman, and wife, Tina, of Lewisburg, and Kevin Halterman, and wife, Heather of Daniels; a daughter, Tasha Halterman, of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Alexander, Adam, Conlin and Noah Halterman, Hunter Thompson and Chase Thompson; two great-grandchildren, Maeve Halterman and Iyla Halterman (on the way); sisters, Tink Gum, of Buckeye, and Sherry Buttrey, of Fairmont; niece-sister, Kim Halterman, of Hillsboro; great-aunt, Juanita McNeill, of Marlinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyer Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from noon until time of service.
