Wanda Mae Dever Buckland, 89, received her eternal reward Friday, May 19, 2023. Wanda peacefully passed from this world to her Heavenly home with her daughter and a loved one by her side after a 17-month stay at Violet Springs Health Campus in Pickerington, Ohio.
Born August 17, 1933, in Mill Gap, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Ethel Lantz Dever. Wanda had lived in Canal Winchester, Ohio, since 1994, coming from Laurel, Maryland.
Wanda grew up in Buckeye, and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1952. She spent most of her working years in banking until she retired from Nations Bank (now known as Bank of America). Wanda had a passion for reading and making desserts, especially chocolate fudge.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel Dever; son, Gregory Buckland; brothers, Warren Dever, Ivan “Harper” Dever, and Curtis “Buck” Dever; sister, Irene Vaughan; and son-in-law, James Saneda.
Wanda will be deeply missed by her family including her loving daughter, Teresa Saneda; grandsons, Joshua and Jonathan Saneda; great-grandchildren, Harper and Brody Saneda, all of Columbus, Ohio; sister, Dorothy Lane, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Marvin Chapel in Buckeye, with Pastor Fred Goldizen officiating.
The family will receive friends at Marvin Chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Interment in Ruckman Cemetery in Mill Point immediately following the service.
