Virginia D. Townsend, age 82, of Elkins, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Hospice Care House in Elkins.
Born December 16, 1932, in Frank, she was a daughter of the late Omer Edward Davis and Flossie May Clayton Davis.
Virginia was a homemaker. She attended the Frank Church of the Nazarene.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charlie Hoover and William Hoover; a grandson, Charles Hoover; a sister, Bertha Davis; and three brothers, James Davis, Delton Davis and Omer Davis.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Buddy Lee Townsend; a son, Robert Hoover, of Grottos, Virginia; a sister, Catherine Morris, of Pennsylvania; a brother, Fred Davis, of Spokane, Washington; grandchildren, Tammy Hoover McCutcheon, of Tennessee, Davis Hoover, Sr., of Dunmore, and Virginia Hoover, of Riverton; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Arbovale. Funeral service is Thursday, March 19, 2 p.m. at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery on Back Mountain Road.
