Vernon Lee Sturgill 86, of Cass, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. Born May 27, 1937, in Cass, he was a son of the late Lester and Ruth Neighbors Sturgill.
Vernon was an Air Force Veteran and an operational supervisor for Chevron Asphalt. He liked the outdoors and enjoyed hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Yvonne Sturgill; daughter, Elizabeth Snyder; son, Kevin Sturgill; and several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Vernon Sturgill Jr., and wife, Susan, of Hawaii, Brian Gurnsey, of Navada, Jeanne Ortiz, and husband, Abe, of Maryland, Larry Sturgill, and wife, Jill, of Maryland, and Dreama Sturgill, of Arbovale; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and one on the way.
In keeping with his wishes, the body will be cremated and there will be no service.
