Monongahela National Forest, in partnership with nonprofit partner Choose Outdoors and presenting sponsor 84 Lumber, will transport the 2023 Capitol Christmas Tree from West Virginia to Washington, D.C.
The journey of the 63-foot Norway spruce, which was cut in the Greenbrier Ranger District of the Monongahela National Forest, will begin in Elkins Saturday, November 4, and make its way through local communities before arriving at its final destination at the nation’s capital.
Well-wishers can see the wrapped-up tree on its extra-long trailer, sign the banners attached to each side, learn about Monongahela National Forest, purchase U.S. Capitol Christ- mas Tree merchandise and enjoy the holiday spirit in their communities.
The Capitol Christmas Tree will be in Marlinton at Mitchell Chevrolet Monday, November 6, from 4 to 6 p.m.
