Sylvia Jean Pritt Walton, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, with her husband, Bill, by her side.
Born June 18, 1952, at Marlinton, she was a daughter of the late Hill Headley and Lila Faye Cutlip Pritt.
Sylvia was a member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church on Droop Mountain. She held various offices in the church, along with being song leader. She retired as a teachers aide from Hillsboro Elementary School, after 41 years.
She is survived by her husband, William K. “Bill” Walton, of Hillsboro, whom she married June 28, 1986; two brothers, Jeffrey Pritt, and Kenneth Pritt, and wife, Pam, all of Droop Mountain; three sisters, Delores Cutlip, and husband, Jimmie, and Evelyn “Poke” Hollands-worth, and husband, Mike, all of Marlinton, and Patricia Triplett, of Droop Mountain; father-in-law, Buddy Walton, of Hillsboro; sisters-in-law, Donna Fowler and Robin Walton, both of Hillsboro; a brother-in-law, David Walton, of Hillsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Friday, September 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton. Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 30, 2 p.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hillsboro with Pastors Lee Williams and Phil Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Cemetery at Bruffey Creek.
