Samuel Lee Cook, of Laurel Hill, Florida, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, in Crestview, Florida.
Born April 29, 1929, at Spy Rock, and raised in Seebert, he was a son of the late Hampton and Pearl Alberts Cook.
Sam retired from Ford Motor Company in Ohio. He loved bluegrass music. He enjoyed family gatherings and reunions, where his family would get together and play music and sing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Garland Woodrow Cook, Henry Harold Cook, Benjamine Garfield Cook, Mabel Lucille Cook Myers McDuffie, Gail Franklin Cook, and Winiford Marie Cook Davis; half-brother, Jesse Cook; half-sisters, Mammie Violet Hinkle Grose and Opel Virginia Hinkle Kessler; and a son-in-law, Paul Sheets.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Huffman Cook; a son, Kenneth Cook, and wife, Fran, of Amherst, Ohio; a daughter, Linda Cook Sheets, of Amherst, Ohio; three brothers, Richard Cook, and wife, Ruby, and Vonciel Aldrich, all of Niceville, Florida, and Henly Cook, and wife, Sylvia, of Renick; a sister, Juanita Cutlip, and husband, Gail, of Baker, Florida; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; step-son, Bobby Burdette; two step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held May 5 at the Davis Watkins Funeral Home in Crestview, Florida.
