Students of all grades hold their books as their picture is taken in front of the first Dunmore School. The teacher is standing at the left. This one room school building was located on Sitlington Creek on land given by Isaac Moore. Early teachers in this school were: Miss Emma Warwick, B. B. Williams, Cora Jones, Lillie Milligan, Maude Mason, Isabel Heatherly and Anna Lee Ervine. This school building was used until the early part of 1900s when the Dunmore Grade School was built on land given by Harry Moore. The two room school was closed in 1960.
