The Bratton House on Tenth Avenue in Marlinton was built 1890-1900. It was the home of Mr. and Mrs. William A. Bratton and their children, Mary Frances, Virginia Guy, Sue McKee and Robert Andrew. Servant quarters can be seen behind the house in this photograph. Mr. Bratton was a prominent attorney in the county and was elected to the first Marlinton Town Council in 1900. After this picture was taken the house was damaged by fire and the upper stories were removed. It survives today as a one-story house on the 1000 block of 10th Avenue.
