Social pioneering photographer Lewis Wickes Hine took this photograph of Little Levels District High School in Hillsboro, W. Va. October 6, 1921. Mr. Hine described this school as “one of the best consolidated rural schools in the county.” The original photo and negative are housed at the Library of Congress.
