Oren Richard Moore was born in Huntersville, Pocahontas County, West Virginia, on March 29, 1930, the son of Charles King Moore and Icie Gladys (nee Harvey) Moore Fertig.
In 1951, Oren entered the United States Marine Corps, and attained the Rank of Private First Class. He was serving with Company C, 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division in Korea.
On 06 October 1952, PFC Oren Richard Moore was Killed In Action by Gunshot or Small Arms Fire, in the BATTLE ZONE: WESTERN OUTPOSTS

PFC Oren Richard Moore’s body was returned to the U.S. and he was buried with Military Honors at Mountain View Cemetery, in Pocahontas County, West Virginia.
