Sydenstricker Family Portrait – circa 1890
Presbyterian missionaries Rev. Absalom Sydenstricker and his wife, Caroline Stulting Sydenstricker, pictured here with three of their children, Edward, Arthur and Edith, in China. Arthur and Edith died of cholera in 1890, within one month of each other. Their daughter, Pearl, would be born in Hillsboro, W.Va. in 1892. This portrait was taken by T.
