An important area of the hospital got a huge makeover this spring, thanks to generous help from the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
The kitchen, often overlooked, got new cabinets and a more streamlined work area.
The Dietary Department is responsible for providing healthy and nutritious meals for patients three times a day, in addition to providing meals for much of the staff.
Meal plans are made for each patient’s specific needs. Proper nutrition plays a major role in the improvement of a patient’s health.
Dietary Director Reba Arbogast is thrilled with the beautiful new cabinets. Installation of the cabinets led to other small improvements, such as new shelving, some re-arranging and even more decorative accents like hooks for potholders.
Pocahontas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was formed in 1972 with 94 active and associate members and through the years has contributed more than $100,000 worth of equipment and improvements at the hospital. Various fund-raisers are held throughout the year and the auxiliary also operates the hospital’s Gift Shop.
