Mon Power has scheduled an electric interruption for several areas of Pocahontas County for Monday, October 19. Mon Power regrets the inconvenience, but the work is necessary to help enhance service reliability in the area.
Mon Power collaborated with school officials to set the October 19 date for the outage because Pocahontas County schools will be closed that day.
The interruption will occur from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting approximately 3,200 customers in the vicinity of Buckeye, Dunmore, Huntersville, Marlinton and Minnehaha Springs.
Specifically, the work will involve attaching new switching devices to two new poles installed e in mid-July of this year. The poles are located between Marlinton and Clover Lick, and along Little Italy Road. If your power was interrupted during the July 15 outage, you will be affected by the October 19 outage.
Mon Power crews could not attach the switching devices to the poles during the July outage because the switches were unavailable. Crews will also take advantage of the October 19 outage to replace a switch in the Marlinton Substation, eliminating the need for a separate outage for that job.
Mon Power will attempt to contact affected customers by phone prior to the outage.
Customers with questions about the planned outage can call Mon Power’s Customer Service at 1-800-686-0022.
