Nancy Louise Hefner, age 76, of Neola, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016, Lewis-Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia.
Born November 23, 1939, in Healing Springs, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Corbett H. and Eugie Mae Griffin Ryder.
Nancy was a member of May Chapel United Metho-dist Church in Neola. She was an employee of Burlington Mills in the 1960s. She loved to read her Bible and play with her grandchildren and her dog, Happy. She liked to help others with problems in a very sincere way. Every day she witnessed for her Lord Jesus Christ in deeds and words. She also sang with a gospel quartet for many years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Andrew Hefner, March 29, 2002; and a sister, Emily Joy Wade, January 20, 2014.
She is survived by two sons, Andrew Lucas Hefner, and Heather, and George Frederick Hefner, and Sonia, all of Neola; grandchildren, LeAnna Hefner Boggs, Cora Mae Hefner, Charles David Hefner and Remmington Hefner; and great-grandchildren, Natalie Boggs and Dwight Boggs.
Funeral service was February 5 at May Chapel United Methodist Church with Revs. Gerald Roberts and Buck Caldwell officiating. Interment was in the May Chapel Cemetery.
