Michael Willard Gibson, age 84, of Marlinton, died Saturday, April 20, 2019, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.
Born June 12, 1934, at Mace, he was a son of the late Dock and Jettie Showlater Gibson.
Mike was retired, having worked as a bartender/wine steward for The Homestead and as a construction worker for the Bath County Pump Storage Project.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Lula F. Irvine, Genelda Shields, Betty Tallman, Gilda Wilfong and Martha Crossan; and brothers, Julian, Jesse, Parker, Basil, Ted, Burl Watson, John Sanford and George Samuel Gibson.
He is survived by his daughters, Reba Arbogast, of Cass, Jettie Gibson, of Lexington, Virginia, and Trudy Hefner, of Marlinton; a son, Curtis Gibson, of Lexington, Virginia; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held April 23 at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating. Interment was in Gibson Cemetery at Slaty Fork.
