My apologies to the community and visitors who came to Mountain View Cemetery over this past Mother’s Day Weekend. Wet weather had delayed a clean-up of at least one gravesite. Also, days of wet weather, leading up to our grounds-keeper going on a week-long vacation, made for very poor conditions, during a very special time. The Mother’s Day holiday is a special time and Mountain View Cemetery is a special place. Both deserve better.
We hope to have the hanging planters up on Main Street before Memorial Day Weekend. Making sure the last frost is over is the main concern.
The vacant lot project, now known as Discovery Junction, is coming together. The committee will meet again Tuesday. We do not have time to complete the stage before Pioneer Days, but construction will begin shortly thereafter.
I hope to have more news next week.
