To update progress, construction of the new 300,000 gallon Cemetery Hill water tank is complete. The old 100,000 gallon Cemetery Hill tank has been taken down and removed. The metal was given to the contractor for removal. For clarification, the tank on the hill above the mausoleum is identified as the south tank.
Construction resumed Monday morning at the water plant. Also, a new valve was installed Monday at the Campbelltown pump station. This valve will allow water from the North Tank to return to Town, if needed in an emergency.
The Water Department and Marlinton Fire Department will begin annual inspections and testing of Fire Hydrants in early May. Inspections are usually completed within two weeks, depending on what other work comes up in between. The public will be given further notice before inspections begin.
