Durbin Library is equipping a kitchen
Funding provided at the beginning of 2016 started the Durbin Community Library on its way to assembling a commercial kitchen. With an anonymous donation of $2,000, a new Frigidaire refrigerator was delivered in June. The refrigerator was a boon to StoryTime, Summer Reading Programs and to various organizations that used the library for events last fall.
The balance of the donation will be used to purchase a three-bowl sink and accompanying equipment.
We continue to raise funds for the kitchen project, as we still need an electric range, cabinets, countertops and pots and pans. The cabinets are slated for construction by the end of the 2017 so the whole kitchen will be assembled and ready to use in 2018.
Funds will be raised throughout the year from individual contributions, our drawing for Rustic Fencing donated by Judy Fencecraft (tickets available at the library), monthly bingo at the Fire Hall, and book sales.
Your donation is needed and appreciated to keep-up the progress. You will be periodically updated here in Library Lines on the progress of the kitchen for Durbin.
