Dear Editor;

People have been writing with their tales of how climate change has affected them. Here is my little story:

We moved here in 2005. We loved the weather. There were three or four days each summer that were so unbearable we had to go down and sit in the river in the late afternoon, but the weather was basically fairly moderate.

That has changed. The breeze that used to pick up and blow through my house is there but humid and hot. I added awnings. I added sun blocking curtains. They helped but many days were simply miserably hot. So last year we had to add air conditioning.

We prefer open windows. We prefer simple fans. We prefer to keep our money in our pocket, spending for neither equipment nor electricity. But the climate has changed. The simple way is no longer possible.
