Kenneth Lee White, age 79, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014.
Born July 1, 1934, at Minnehaha Springs, he was a son of the late Arndt Tressel and Edna Elizabeth Judy White.
Lee was educated in the local schools of Pocahontas County and furthered his education at Concord University. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 at Fort Jackson, Governors Island in New York City and The United States Military Academy.
In 1956, Lee began his career with Kroger as an accountant in Roanoke, Virginia. His employment with Kroger took him to Cincinnati, Ohio, Little Rock, Arkansas, Charleston, and Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1971 and retired following a 35-year career with Harris Teeter and the Ruddick Corporation. He also joined Christ Lutheran Church in 1971 and was an active and dedicated member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean Baker White; a son, Greg White, and wife, Jennifer; a daughter, Susan Minges, and husband, Richard; and grandchildren, Catherine White, Baker White, Harrison White, Phillip Minges, Sarah Minges and Henry Minges.
Funeral service was January 28 at Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina.
